Countermeasures of power analysis
Gerlich, Tomáš ; Malina, Lukáš (referee) ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (advisor)
Side channels affect a security of the cryptographic systems, due to it is necessary to focus on implementation of the algorithm. There are mention basic classification of side channels in the beginning of the work. The following chapter describes types of countermeasures against side channel attack, which the most emphasis on masking, because of possible implementations on existing cryptosystems. Masking techniques are introduces in the following chapter, where is a description of their method of masking, treatment of cipher and their resistance against attack. The practical part describes the measurements that are trying to record the power consumption of the microcontroller. Measurement was designed to examine primarily on information leakage through power side channel.
Analysis of Speech Masked by Noise in Public Transport Vehicles
Kobližka, Martin ; Zvončák, Vojtěch (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with the problems of noise and speech masking in public transport . The theoretical is focused on the perception of sound in terms of loudness and frequency. The practical part includes recording noise inside public transport vehicles and determining the loudness and masking thresholds by the Zwicker method using Matlab. Furthermore, speech recording in different dynamics, listening tests and their evaluation in terms of speech intelligibility.
Testing of room acoustics
Toufarová, Tereza ; Špalek, Karel (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
This paper presents parameters of evaluation of acoustic quality of the space. It is divided into parts presenting physical principle of the origin and movement of the acoustic signal, principles of its processing with current technology and properties of the acoustic field. This is followed by an analysis of the musical part and notes on psychoacoustics. The document contains a description of relevant parameters of acoustic spaces and way in which we can reach desired results, including material analysis. The paper mainly focuses on description of relevant parameters of three acoustic spaces which were measured. The last part of the work is a program for elementary acoustical measurement, which can be provided by means of commonly accessible equipment such as a notebook or a personal computer.
Application for Measurement of Threshold in Quiet and Masking Curves
Bednář, Jan ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
Main aim of this thesis is to create an application for measuring threshold in quiet and masking curves in C++ language. First chapter describes basic teory of perceiving sound and phenomenon of masking. Second chapter focuses on description of different hearing measurement methods. Third chapter describes, how the classes and functions for frequency changing oscilator and evaluation were created and how the graph display function works. Next chapter describes, how to use the application properly and how to do the basic calibration, so the data will be displayed correctly. Last chapter shows the correct function, measured thresholds in quiet and masking curves for two subjects.
The Evaluation of masking of harmonic components in a mixture
Kovanda, Jindřich ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and creation of listening test in which its respondents were setting certain harmonic of the tone to mixture of up to 16 harmonics. The respondents were setting intensity of the harmonic to the border position, in which the harmonic was not masked by the other harmonics in the tone and in which the harmonic stood up from the mixture. The respondents were stetting the harmonics from the first to sixteenth, in various types of the spectrum, pitch and intensity of the tone. Based on the results relations were found which determine how the perception of masking of harmonics vary with their order in the spectrum.
Optimization of powder-coating process resulting in a reduction of labor intensity of finishing components in gas insulated substation - GIS
Svoboda, Tomáš ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Strejček, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the optimization of powder-coating process resulting in a reduction of labor intensity during finishing components in gas insulated switchgear (GIS). The thesis is divided into five main chapters that describe characteristic and function of gas insulated switchgear (GIS), the theory of powder-coating, including mechanical and chemical pretreatment of surfaces, the studies of contemporary quality of coating process in the company ABB s.r.o. with classification of components of GIS according to their function. This chapter also contains detailed analysis of section of coating process during the processing of selected parts (housing and conductor). The thesis also contains detailed studies of masking of surfaces at coating parts, specifies the most common defects and determines the main cause presented in a well-arranged chart, design, description and realization of optimization solutions with selection and evaluation of final version. An economic comparison of contemporary condition of powder-coating process with designed optimization solution is stated at the end of the thesis.
Design and Realization of a System for Masking Dispatcher PC Cut-Off by Backing-Up Data Obtained from TAMRON Weighing-Machine
Štulír, Vojtěch ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
In the productive operation any kind of plant is undesirable due to failure of system that all production has been stopped. Therefore, different security and backup devices that covered those failures are being developed and used.   This thesis describes vulnerabilities in the real operation which are important for treatment and reduce the risk of failure in the whole production. Here is analyzed problem dispatching computer failure and its solution using a module for covering failure. The function of module consists in backup during failure, their sending and treating them after system failure removal.  Gradually described, there is an analysis of the system and place the module into their architecture. After all details follow description of module development from design through implementation to deployment and testing in reality.
Psychoacoustic Perception of Equal Instrumental Chords Distributed Differently in Stereo
Juren, Vojtěch ; Musil, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with psychoacoustic perception of equally instrumented chords distributed differently in stereo. Also this thesis deals with psychoacoustic perception of unequally instrumented chords distributed differently in stereo. The thesis shows what is psychoacoustic perception, according to what is sound color determined, how does masking work between sounds and for people. Next, it shows examined chords which were differently distributed in stereo. These chords were listened by 72 listeners. They did, according to given scale, evaluate intelligibility of instruments within the chord where every individual tone was played by different instrument. The instruments were categorized into three categories according to their creating higher harmonic components. Also, the listeners evaluated intelligibility of the chords. The data were evaluated with help of psychoacoustic method called semantic differential and the results were set.
